Prince Twistpower X100 Racket Review

Off the ground this was a pleasing racket to play with. Its 300g weight helped it feel reasonably solid from the back of the court, but it could have done with a bit more weight towards the top of the hoop for even more stability and plow through.

It is a good racket for reacting quickly to fast shots and redirecting power, as you can get the racket into position very easily and the shock absorption does play its part.

Also, because this racket is such a solid base, it is easy to customise with lead tape and make it completely your own.

The lower swing weight meant that it was incredibly easy to just pick the racket up and start playing, it really didn’t need much of an adjustment period to get used to.

It is certainly not one of the most stiff rackets out there, but the Prince Twistpower X100 still felt responsive on contact and was able to hold its own when you are looking to ramp up your game.

Because you can swing the racket so quickly, you can really accelerate through the ball with confidence, allowing you to hit a lot of spin and power no matter where you are on the court.

There was the occasional shot here and there that didn’t feel as solid as you would like due to the low weight and open string pattern, but on the plus side the racket had a nice flex that helped with comfort and usability.

This is also a racket that you could play with for hours and hours and it would not tire you out! This is definitely a racket that will give you a lot of power and spin for not that much input.

Volleying with the Prince Twistpower X100 was a bit of a mixed bag. It was a very maneuverable racket that made hitting quick reaction volleys easy.

You could really dial in and move the racket into position in a flash, making it great for close quarters doubles play. The large sweet spot and access to spin also made approaching the net pretty straight forward too.

On the other hand, the head light balance, low swing weight and open string pattern did detract from the racket’s stability up at the net.

There were a few volleys that just didn’t feel well connected, as if the swing and the contact on the ball were not in sync. This wasn’t so much of a problem on fast incoming balls, but when a longer swinging volley was needed the racket was a little unpredictable at times.

This wasn’t a massive problem, but it did take away from the experience of volleying a bit compared to the other areas of the game.

Serving with the Twistpower X100 was a much more rewarding experience. It is such an easy racket to swing that it makes generating power very accessible even after an hour of playing.

The open string pattern and the fact that a lot of racket head speed could be generated really helped to get the kick serve to bite.

If you are someone that struggles to generate a lot of power overhead, then the Prince Twistpower X100 could be a great option to go ahead and try.

It is a very easy to use racket that can be swung with confidence, and the stability and plow through question marks really didn’t impact serving in our playtest.

The large sweet spot and great maneuverability of this Prince stick added to the confidence of returning serve.

Whilst it was not the most stable racket out there, it was easy to be aggressive when returning slower serves and ripping the ball with spin when taking a bigger cut at the ball didn’t feel like much effort at all.

The racket felt lively when blocking the ball back and it didn’t feel out of place even when returning big serves. The plush, flexible, comfortable feel meant it was an arm friendly experience, which would make it ideal for a long day of doubles matches!

At times it could have felt more solid when striking off centre hits, but overall the low swingweight and easy maneuverability gave a lot of confidence when looking to attack the returns.

Overall, the Prince Twistpower X100 is a versatile racket that is able to do a lot of things well whilst being an incredibly accessible stick that anyone can pick up and play with to a decent level.

The unique Twistpower technology sets this racket out from the crowd. Not only does it look funky, but it adds to the racket’s plush feel and forgiving nature, making it a butter smooth and responsive racket to play with.

Whilst there was a good amount of feel with this racket thanks to the advancements in technology and middle of the road weight, the lack of plow through did rear its ugly head at times.

This was particularly noticeable when hitting high volleys and when trying to generate a lot of power off a dead ball.

However, the ease at which power and spin could be generated on serve and return made up for this and it was a good racket to play with overall. It is definitely worth testing out and could make for a great all round option for an aggressive baseline player.
